Name: | Viola |
---|
Act I, scene v
Viola is a young woman who, when she believes her twin brother has drowned after a shipwreck, makes the perfectly reasonable decision to disguise herself as a boy and go work for the Duke of Illyria.
The way anyone would.
She is bright, clever, resourceful, and adapts pretty well to the things that get thrown at her.
She is also, for the first time in over 400 years, completely off script.
(Apparently, what's between the lines of Twelfth Night is the end of the universe . . .)
Viola is from Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night, which has been out of copyright for a while now. She appears here for the purpose of playing in . She has short brown hair, a low voice, and will generally be dressed as the boy she's pretending to be.
